What this test measures

This test assesses antibodies to core canine diseases:

  • Parvovirus
  • Distemper
  • Adenovirus (hepatitis)

A positive result indicates that protective antibodies are present at the time of testing.

Testing options

We offer flexible testing depending on your needs:

  • Single antibody test (choose 1 of 3) – $130
  • Two antibody panel (choose 2 of 3) – $170
  • Full core panel (recommended) – $199

The full panel provides the most complete picture of your dog’s immunity across all three core diseases.

Why this test matters

Vaccination plays an essential role in protecting dogs from serious disease. However, immunity often lasts longer than standard vaccination intervals.

Titre testing allows for a more individualised approach by assessing your dog’s current immune status, rather than automatically repeating vaccines.

This approach is supported by international guidelines, including the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA), which advises that core vaccines should not be given more frequently than every 3 years in adult dogs.

Important to know

  • This test reflects immunity at the time of sampling only
  • It does not assess protection against kennel cough or leptospirosis
  • Not all boarding facilities, groomers, or training organisations accept titre testing in place of vaccination

We recommend checking requirements with your provider before relying on titre results.

How often should this be done

Titre testing is typically considered:

  • After puppy vaccinations to confirm immunity
  • At 12 months of age
  • Every 1 to 3 years in adult dogs

Frequency should be guided by your dog’s age, health status, lifestyle, and your veterinarian’s advice.

At iScreenPets, titre testing can also be used as part of a proactive annual health approach for pet parents seeking ongoing reassurance.

Our approach

We view titre testing as part of a broader, evidence-informed approach to preventative care.

It is not about avoiding vaccination altogether, but about making more informed decisions based on your dog’s individual immune status.

What's included
Dog Gut Health Copilot
Your dog’s gut plays a central role in their overall health - influencing digestion, energy, skin condition, immunity, and even mood. This personalised health profile brings their results to life, showing how well each area is functioning and where targeted support may help. Explore the domains below to understand your dog’s unique microbiome balance and discover practical steps to support their gut health.
Microbial Diversity
Microbial diversity reflects the variety and balance of different bacterial groups living in your dog’s gut. A diverse microbiome is associated with stronger immunity, better digestion, reduced inflammation, and greater resilience against disease. This section measures the major bacterial phyla alongside key diversity and dysbiosis indices to reveal the overall health and stability of your dog’s gut ecosystem.
This stool test measures:
Fibre Fermentation & SCFA Support
These bacteria ferment dietary fibres into short-chain fatty acids that support gut health in dogs. Balanced levels are associated with stable stool quality and microbiome resilience.
Protein & Fat Metabolism
These bacteria reflect normal canine microbiome function, particularly in protein and fat digestion. Their presence is expected in healthy dogs.
Mucosal & Barrier Interaction
These bacteria interact with the gut lining and immune system. They are often present at low levels in dogs.
Microbiome Regulators
These bacteria vary with diet and environment and are not inherently good or bad. Their role depends on overall balance.
Commensal & Opportunistic Interface
These bacteria are commonly present and only relevant when significantly elevated.
This stool test measures:
Specialised / Low-Abundance Beneficiall
These bacteria are often naturally low in dogs and not reliable markers of gut health when absent.
Potential Pathogens
These bacteria are only relevant when elevated and associated with clinical signs.
This stool test measures:
Fungal Species
Yeast and fungi naturally exist in small amounts within your dog’s gut but can cause health problems if they grow unchecked. Fungal overgrowth may contribute to digestive discomfort, skin irritation, ear infections, and weakened immunity. Assessing fungal balance helps identify hidden drivers of persistent symptoms and supports targeted treatment and recovery.
This test measures:
Parasites
Parasites can disrupt your dog’s digestion, nutrient absorption, and gut lining integrity - sometimes without any obvious symptoms. Detecting parasitic infections early allows for prompt treatment to restore gut function and prevent further health complications. Regular screening is especially important for dogs with chronic digestive or immune issues, those in multi-pet households, or dogs that spend time at parks, beaches, or in bushland.
This stool test measures:
Worms
Intestinal worms can cause a range of digestive and immune issues in dogs, particularly if left undetected. They may lead to poor nutrient absorption, weight loss, anaemia, and a compromised gut barrier. Identifying and addressing worm infections helps restore proper gut function and supports your dog’s overall wellbeing. Screening is an important step, especially for puppies, rescue dogs, and those with regular outdoor access.
This stool test measures:
Viral Pathogens
Certain viruses can infect your dog’s gastrointestinal tract and contribute to inflammation, digestive symptoms, and immune system strain. Identifying viral infections supports a clearer understanding of gut health and helps guide appropriate treatment and immune support. Early detection can help minimise long-term effects on gut function, particularly in puppies and senior dogs.
